⸺  Biography

A Garlean refugee who fled the Capital in the midst of the first War of Succession immediately following Solus zos Galvus’ death, Leon has been in Eorzea for the better part of five summers now. While he first started out his new life in Ul’dah thanks to the assistance of the Lemures and other Garlean refugees like him, Leon now splits his time between Thanalan, Coerthas, and Mor Dhona. A hunter for hire, Leon drifts from place to place tracking his next hunt mark; although he has recently started a base of operations in Revenant's Toll.If he’s desperate enough for his next Gil, he’s been known to take odd jobs, with a priority for engineering or bodyguard work.

As with many Garleans, Leon's training started at a young age in preparation for eventually fighting in the Imperial army. Leon has been formally trained in firearms, magitek weaponry, and the gunblade (in a Garlean style). Nowadays, he makes his own weapons and fights with either an axe or magitek gauntlets that he created. He only rarely fights with a gunblade, and is always armed with a pistol stashed somewhere on his person.In addition to his combat prowess, Leon is a skilled magitek mechanic. A brief stint studying at the Magitek Academy has given him enough knowledge to be dangerous and a willingness to “fuck around and find out” for himself has gotten him the rest of the way there. The work he does might not be the prettiest, but it’s always functional—just look at his arm.

  Hunter for Hire    Common, openly shared informationLeon is a hunter for hire. He can be found working with Clan Centurio or any other bill distributors in Thanalan, Coerthas, and around Mor Dhona. (And, eventually, at a converted inn-turned-hunter-headquarters in Revenant's Toll.)For the right price, he’s also been known to take a variety of combat-oriented jobs, including working as a bodyguard or punching someone’s face in who really deserves it.  Skilled Mechanic    : Common, with promptingWhile he's an expert at Magitek (for obvious reasons), he's also generally good with all kinds of engineering. Characters who hear of his expertise in this matter and are in need of a mechanic are free to approach; likewise, his most obvious example of his body of work is his prosthetic left arm, which would be visible if any part of his left arm or shoulder is showing.  Zoophobic    : Common, in the right settingsHe's afraid of most large animals. He's especially afraid of Chocobos. How this man became a hunter is a mystery to us all. If you get him on Chocoboback, there's a very real chance he might be sick.  Lemure    : Uncommon, only with reasonAs with many other Garlean refugees, Leon's first stop in Eorzea was with the Lemures in Ul'dah. Drusilla helped get his feet under him, hired a healer to put him back together, and kept him employed when he was without a sense of direction. Although he tried to keep to himself—mostly out of fear of being identified—other members of the Lemures may have run into Leon within the Lemure Headquarters.He is more likely to have interacted openly with non-Garlean members or associates of the Lemures.  Spotty Memory    : Rare, ask firstFor a variety of reasons, Leon's memory isn't the greatest. He struggles to hold on to small details about people and places, and the older the memory, the harder it is for him to hold on to it. If you knew him before, there's a very real chance he can remember you, but he can't remember specific exchanges or details. To combat this, he's started keeping a rather extensive journal. Once you get to know him and his lackadaisical attitude, this habit would seem out of character (he's so flippant about everything else, after all), and so may draw attention and spark conversation.If he knew your character prior to the fall of Garlemald (during EW, in other words), he's probably forgotten something about them--let's chat to figure out what that is.  Garlean Ex-Military    : Very Rare, ask firstAfter the death of Solus zos Galvus, Leon fought in the first War of Succession in Garlemald, specifically on the side of Nerva, Titus, and the IIIrd legion. Members of the IIIrd legion likely would have known of him, even if he had not met them personally. He had a reputation as the brash, reckless, obstinate primi ordines who couldn't take an order, but who fought with a viciousness bordering on inhuman to protect his allies. Whether or not he made a good impression is up for debate.His identity is more than it seems on the surface, but he is very, very reluctant to share his real name.
